Therapists | Why Join SC Upstate EFT

Become a Member

Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a research-backed approach that helps individuals, couples, and families strengthen emotional bonds by getting to the heart of what happens beneath the surface of distress. Rather than focusing only on behaviors or recurring arguments, EFT helps people understand the deeper emotions and attachment needs such as love, safety, and connection that shape these patterns.

With the guidance of a trained EFT therapist, clients learn how to recognize emotional cycles, share vulnerable emotions more clearly, and respond to one another in ways that foster safety and trust. Over time, this process supports healing and helps relationships feel more secure, responsive, and connected.

Benefits of Membership

Community and Connection
Build relationships with other EFT clinicians in the Upstate. Membership offers opportunities to connect with peers who are learning, practicing, and refining EFT across settings and populations.

Professional Visibility
Members who are also current members of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT) may be listed in the SC Upstate EFT therapist directory. This provides increased visibility for individuals and couples seeking EFT-informed care and can support professional networking and referrals among colleagues.

Ongoing Learning and Development
As the community grows, SC Upstate EFT intends to offer opportunities such as peer consultation, supervision, and educational events that support continued development in the EFT model.
