Membership Overview

SC Upstate EFT is a nonprofit professional community for therapists in the Upstate of South Carolina who are practicing, learning, or interested in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Membership provides connection, visibility within the professional community, and opportunities for growth within a relational, attachment-informed framework.

  • Membership in SC Upstate EFT is open to:

    • Licensed therapists

    • Therapists-in-training (i.e., graduate students or associated licensed professionals with an applicable degree in a mental health field)

    Clinicians who are learning about or working toward training in Emotionally Focused Therapy

  • The SC Upstate EFT therapist directory is reserved for clinicians who are also current members of the International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT).

    • All SC Upstate EFT members are welcome to participate in our community

    • Only ICEEFT members are eligible to be listed in our public therapist directory

    • ICEEFT membership status is verified prior to directory inclusion

    This distinction helps ensure clarity and transparency for both therapists and the public.

    • Participation in a local community of EFT-oriented clinicians

    • Updates about events, reduced member rates at trainings and professional opportunities

    • Opportunities for connection, consultation, and collaboration as the community develops

    • Eligibility for inclusion in the SC Upstate EFT therapist directory (ICEEFT members only)

    • Members agree to uphold the ethical standards of their professional license

    • Membership is renewed annually (DEV NOTE: can we set this up to be auto-renewed each year?)

    • Members are independent practitioners and are not employees, agents, or representatives of SC Upstate EFT

SC Upstate EFT is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization registered with the South Carolina Secretary of State. SC Upstate EFT exists to support and equip therapists and does not provide therapy services, clinical referrals, or crisis intervention.

Membership reflects participation in a professional community and does not constitute endorsement of clinical services.
