About SC Upstate EFT

Who We Are: SC Upstate EFT is a nonprofit professional community supporting Emotionally Focused Therapy clinicians across the Upstate of South Carolina. We exist to strengthen the practice of EFT locally by fostering connection, education, and accountability among therapists while increasing public access to EFT-informed care.

Our Mission Statement: SC Upstate EFT is a non-profit membership organization that exists to support and grow the local EFT (Emotionally Focused Therapy) therapist community to deliver competent, compassionate, and equitable care to both therapists and clients within our Upstate community.

Our Vision: We envision an Upstate community where individuals, couples, and families have access to emotionally attuned, evidence-based care, and where Emotionally Focused Therapy clinicians are supported, connected, and equipped to offer healing relationships that foster safety, resilience, and lasting connection.

Diversity, Equity & Inclusion: (DEV NOTE: break this into 2 paragraphs, as below)

  1. SC Upstate EFT aims to create a space for both therapists and clients alike that is committed to demonstrating equity, anti-oppression, anti-racism, and allyship in our endeavors. We recognize that each person holds dignity and the ability to heal and self-determine, but there are systemic factors at play that can interfere with a person’s ability to experience safety and belonging.

  2. As such, we are committed to holding space for marginalized voices and affirming each person’s individual humanity regardless of one’s race, religion, physical or intellectual abilities, sexual orientation, gender orientation, and/or SES status.

Community Impact: Stories from our EFT community will be added as we continue to grow. (DEV NOTE: this can be a placeholder for now – Jen and Rachel are working on getting some quotes)

Our Connection to ICEEFT: SC Upstate EFT is an affiliated community of International Centre for Excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy (ICEEFT). Our affiliation reflects alignment with ICEEFT’s standards for training, ethics, and clinical excellence in Emotionally Focused Therapy. SC Upstate EFT is not a therapist group practice or organization. It exists to equip and educate therapists, and its board members are elected on a volunteer basis.
